School Social Worker (Full Time)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our K–8 community. The ideal candidate will bring a "whatever it takes" attitude to supporting scholars' academic, social, and emotional success. Prior experience in urban education settings is preferred, as is a deep belief in every child's potential to thrive.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our K–8 community. The ideal candidate will bring a "whatever it takes" attitude to supporting scholars' academic, social, and emotional success. Prior experience in urban education settings is preferred, as is a deep belief in every child's potential to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling, as well as classroom-based social-emotional support
- Deliver direct services to meet IEP minutes and support the broader school community
- Complete special education documentation and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Conduct functional behavior assessments, social developmental histories, and progress monitoring
- Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans
- Support pre-referral interventions and monitor 504 accommodations
- Provide crisis intervention and responsive support for scholars and families
- Coordinate and lead programming on topics such as social-emotional learning, character development, violence prevention, healthy relationships, and substance abuse awareness
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and outside social service agencies to ensure holistic scholar support
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (Type 73) endorsement (required)
- Experience in school-based social work (required)
- Knowledge of special education processes and compliance (preferred)
- Commitment to scholar achievement and social-emotional growth, even in challenging circumstances
- Strong problem-solving skills and resilience to stay focused until results are achieved
