Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support to individuals facing mental health challenges, assisting with their care and treatment plans. This position requires a strong understanding of various therapeutic techniques and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Conduct patient assessments and participate in the development of treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.
- Assist in crisis management and behavior management strategies to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, medical records, and HIPAA compliance.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing techniques such as motivational interviewing and art therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in clinical research activities as needed, contributing to data collection and analysis.
- Support patients dealing with grief, PTSD, addiction, chronic pain, and other mental health issues.
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions.
Requirements
- Experience in mental health counseling or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with psychotherapy techniques including behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
- Previous hospital or clinic experience is advantageous; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Understanding of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and diagnostic evaluations. Candidates who possess a background in social work or have experience in geriatric care or pediatrics will be viewed favorably. Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
