Overview
Recruit and maintain Family Day Care (FDC) and Group Family Day Care (GFDC) providers to participate with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Monitor the CACFP homes and center sites. Monitor the Summer Foods Program (SFSP) sites. Provide all food program sites and staff nutrition and health resources. Train FDC and GFDC providers, staff at centers and SFSP staff and on CACFP and/or NYSED policies, rules, regulations, and responsibilities. Assist clients searching for childcare. Help clients create a childcare plan that meets their family’s needs. Maintain a current and accurate database of childcare programs. Offer parenting education to clients as needed.
Duties
· Be knowledgeable with Child Care Regulations, Social Services Law, Legally Exempt Regulations, CACFP Regulations and all Policies and Procedures
· Review, approve, and maintain current menus, enrollments, income eligibility and attendance for CACFP monthly claim for Homes, Center and Summer Food sites.
· Send appropriate notices to CACFP participants
· Schedule required CACFP site visits according to timeline for Homes, Centers and Summer Food sites with additional staff member and report schedule to supervisor.
· Process claims in a timely manner, review Office Error reports, and encourage claim submission.
· Prepare envelopes for CACFP reimbursement checks.
· Provide annual and ongoing training in the topic of CACFP/Summer Foods program administration for Homes, Centers and Summer Food sites
· Review and Maintain procedures manual
· Recruit CACFP participants from childcare providers.
· Provide one-on-one assistance and onsite visits for programs who need individualized support, where permitted.
· Attends train the trainer sessions, webinars, trainings, and meetings to keep abreast of changes in the childcare field.
· Maintain a good working relationship with all the partnering agencies.
· Maintain accurate, organized, and timely records.
· Maintain confidentiality in regard to staff, community, family and provider information.
· Attend all required agency, OCFS and program trainings and meetings at various locations wherever they may be located
· Follows all agency administrative and programmatic policies and procedures.
· Maintain Contact and travel logs and submit Monthly by the 5th of each month
· Market/advertise and outreach CCR&R services to families, community groups and businesses
· Offer and document Basic Technical Assistance as requested
· Compile, create and distribute the quarterly Child Care Chatter newsletter
· Actively Participate in Standard of Excellence
· Attend Staff meetings and training as required by the agency
· Participate in Floor Chores
· Promotes CCR&R services to the public through visibilities and materials distribution.
· Coordinate and counsel families’ needs/requests on Child Care Information and Referral Services
· Conduct 100% of Referral Follow up attempts, strive for at least 20% return rate
· Complete 100% of Child Care provider full program updates in person, virtually, email or mail annually and program vacancy updates quarterly
· Maintain comprehensive and accurate childcare database (Parent, Provider, Community)
· Recruit registered childcare providers throughout the county
· Recruit CACFP participants from childcare providers
· Compile required data for End of Month statistical reports by the 5th of each month
· Work cooperatively in a team environment and maintain a positive work environment
· Work cooperatively with team to develop, organize and present ongoing training for childcare providers, agency staff, parents and the community
· Provide relevant information to the quarterly newsletter for parents, providers and community
Skills
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education or Nutrition/related field & experience
- Able to keep accurate and current records
- Organizational skills
- Computer skills
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
- Valid Driver's License and insured vehicle
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.67 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
