Shift: Schedule will vary between the hours of 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM + one weekend a month + on-call one weekend a month

Under the supervision of the RYC Manager of Crisis Services, the QMHP Lead will oversee all Peers. The QMHP Lead will provide clinical leadership and direction to all in the department. The Peer Lead delivers customer service and works cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments, maintains accurate clinical documentation, and demonstrates Trinity’s principles and values when interacting with clients, families, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.

Responsibilities:
  • The QMHP Lead conducts face-to-face and telemedicine crisis assessments with patients to determine their specific needs.
  • Patients in crisis often enter a state of psychological shock and withdrawal as a way of handling the aftermath of the disaster or crisis situation. The LMHP provides temporary forms of advocacy to help clients meet these needs and may include explaining the patient’s needs to multiple service providers.
  • Providing accurate and timely referrals is another important responsibility of the LMHP. They must know the state of Illinois and Iowa’s admission criteria for inpatient psychiatric services, and often mentor clinicians within the agency about the patient’s mental health rights according to the state’s mental health codes.
  • Provide supervision to peers. Participate in routine and newly emerging clinical practice in-service and competency training as direct by Crisis Services Manager.
  • Participate in RYC work groups, task force, or committees as requested. Actively participate and contribute to UnityPoint Health – RYC Strategic Plan Goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Therapy or a related field.
License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Provisionally licensed from the Illinois and/or Iowa Department of Public Health in one of the following :
    • Social Work
    • Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • CPR
Experience:
  • 6 months experience in a community mental health or inpatient psychiatry or substance abuse setting.
  • Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs. The salary range listed does not include other forms of compensation which may include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits that may be applicable to this role.
