Our luxury residential treatment center is seeking a strong candidate to fill the Substance Abuse Counselor position. The ideal candidate will have a background in addiction medicine and psychiatry and will be responsible for the development and implementation of recovery programs for recovering addicts. A successful candidate has a passion for clinical work, strong communication skills and can accurately manage patient schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Counsel individuals, families and groups to help them recover from the effects of mental illness and substance abuse.
• Identify, and treat mental health and substance abuse disorders.
• Assess the client’s social, familial and occupational environment to determine the client’s ability to recover.
• Treat clients who are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction through therapeutic techniques.
• Provide individual, family or group counseling sessions to patients.
• Work in cooperation with medical staff.
• Be able to hand patients over to physicians for prescriptions.
• Group and Individual sessions with up to 6 clients at a time required

Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor from a recognized certifying body or registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences required.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
