Job Summary
Serves as a member of the Admissions recruitment team, with responsibility for coordinating student recruitment for the CSU Arts Campus and associated art, dance and theatre programs and the School of Film and Media, (SFM) in order to meet enrollment goals for Cleveland State University. Communicates daily and builds relationships with prospective students, parents, and high school and community college counselors. Coordinates selected correspondence, plans and executes on- and off-campus programs, represents the University at college fairs, performing arts and community events, community colleges, portfolio review days, workshops and related events; manages associated travel schedule. Informs prospective students and parents on University admissions policies and procedures. Maintains records and prepares and hoc and periodic reports as required. Works a flexible schedule including travel off-campus, evenings and weekends. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in art, dance, theatre, film, or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: college or university admissions recruitment; college student activities; college admissions counseling at the high school or college level; territory and prospect management; marketing, sales, or related experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University's Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in art, dance theatre, film, education, higher education, business, communications, or closely related field or two years of post-baccalaureate professional experience related to the arts or students in the arts.
- Experience working with various student populations.
- Experience using social media and customer management relations software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Demonstrated appreciation of and involvement in the arts.
- Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
- Prior experience in public speaking.
- PC proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
- Proven history of exercising initiative, decision-making and effective organization of time and tasks; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel frequently (car, air, bus, train) and to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
