Overview
We are seeking a motivated Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) to join our interventional psychiatry team. The LAPC will provide psychotherapy and supportive counseling under the supervision of a Board-approved clinical supervisor. This role focuses on helping patients receiving advanced psychiatric treatments such as TMS, Spravato, and integrative therapies, while developing the clinician’s professional skills toward full LPC licensure.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Care
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy under required clinical supervision.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and treatment planning.
- Deliver supportive counseling to patients undergoing interventional treatments (e.g., Spravato monitoring support, integration sessions post-TMS).
- Collaborate with prescribers and medical staff to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
- Maintain therapeutic relationships grounded in evidence-based practices.
- Collaboration & Care Coordination
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other therapists.
- Communicate patient progress and concerns to supervisors and the care team.
- Support patient education regarding treatment options, wellness strategies, and therapy goals.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and state law.
- Complete all clinical documentation (intakes, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) within required timeframes.
- Adhere to Georgia Composite Board requirements for LAPC supervision, including logging supervision hours.
- Professional Growth
- Attend weekly clinical supervision sessions with a Board-approved LPC supervisor.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, case consultation, and training in interventional psychiatry.
- Demonstrate ethical decision-making consistent with ACA Code of Ethics and Georgia Composite Board rules.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Current Georgia license as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC).
- Eligible and committed to ongoing supervision toward full LPC licensure.
- Strong interest in interventional psychiatry and integrative mental health approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous clinical training or practicum in outpatient psychiatry or integrative care.
- Familiarity with treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or trauma-focused therapies.
- Comfort working with patients undergoing advanced psychiatric treatments (TMS, Spravato).
