About Job

Oklahoma Veterans United is seeking compassionate and skilled professionals to join our talent pool for temporary or occasional coverage of our SSVF Housing Case Manager role. This flexible opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about serving veterans and their families, and who can step in during staff leave periods to ensure uninterrupted support and housing stabilization services.

Key Responsibilities

Housing Navigation

  • Conduct housing-related intake and assessments.
  • Research and build relationships with landlords and housing providers.
  • Assist clients with housing searches and accompany them to view units.
  • Advocate for clients during the application and leasing process.
  • Provide tenancy support and conflict resolution post-placement.

Case Management

  • Deliver weekly case management and support services until clients are stabilized.
  • Provide aftercare for up to three months post-housing placement.
  • Connect clients with resources for basic needs, healthcare, employment, and more.
  • Submit documentation for financial assistance (rent, utilities, deposits).
  • Attend team meetings and complete required documentation.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of housing laws, tenant rights, and local housing markets.
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse populations and prioritize client needs.
  • Familiarity with community resources, mental health, and substance abuse services.
  • Experience working with homeless or at-risk populations; veterans preferred.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and case management tools.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in social services, education, or criminal justice.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a related field.
