About Job

The Manchester-Shortsville Central School District (Red Jacket Schools) is seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Psychologist for 2025–2026.This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) probationary tenure-track position, starting August 28, 2025. The School Psychologist supports student learning and well-being by conducting assessments, providing consultation, and delivering disability-related support services. The role is vital to the special education process, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and crisis intervention, with a strong focus on creating safe, inclusive, and supportive school environments.Position Details
  • 7.5-hour day, 10-month academic year (plus 20 days)
  • Location: District-wide (K–12)
  • Salary: Per RJFA contract; minimum $46,113, commensurate with experience

  • Reports to: Coordinator of Special Services
Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments to determine eligibility for special education and Section 504 services. 504 Coordinator and CSE chair for meetings as needed.
  • Interpret assessment data and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop individualized plans.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.
Mental Health and Counseling:
  • Provide short-term counseling, behavioral interventions, and crisis response services to students based on disability-specific goals.
  • Support social-emotional learning and the development of coping, executive functioning, and self-regulation skills.
  • Refer students to other team members or outside mental health providers as appropriate, in collaboration with the Collective Care Team.
Collaboration and Consultation:
  • Work with educators, families, and support staff to develop effective interventions and accommodations.
  • Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, TIG, and Behavior Assessment Team (BAT) meetings.
  • Provide training and support to staff on behavior management, trauma-informed practices, and positive school climate strategies.
Compliance and Recordkeeping:
  • Prepare legally defensible evaluation reports and maintain required documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical, legal, and professional standards in assessment and service delivery.
