About Job

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the clinical services of youth admitted to the Brooklyn RTF, including treatment planning and individual and group therapy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct clinical services for a caseload of 6-8 youth in the Brooklyn RTF, including completion of clinical assessments, treatment plans, discharge planning, and conferences as required by the Office of Mental Health and clinical best practices
  • Provide individual and family therapy as required to meet individualized goals for each youth on caseload
  • Act as the lead of the treatment team for individual caseload, ensuring clear, consistent communication between all disciplines, including but not limited to psychiatric provider, medical team, milieu, and administration
  • In partnership with the Unit Leader, provide supervision for Youth Advocates and Senior Youth Advocates of at least 1 unit geared towards the integration of mental health, rehabilitative services, and clinical best practices into the milieu
  • Support the foundational practices of Sanctuary and TCI via training and skills including, but not limited to, community and red flag meetings
  • Collaborate with systems throughout NYS and NYC, including ACS, various county DSS teams, DJJOY, etc.
  • Other related duties as assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises clinical milieu practice and integration via individual and group supervision, case conferences, and joint sessions with youth/milieu.

Oversees the communication and dispositional planning of the treatment team for personal caseload and case coverage for the clinical team when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work.
  • LMSW/LCSW required
  • Current CPR certification (provided at RTF).
  • Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) (Provided at RTF)
  • Documented performance of exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience working with adolescents
  • Proficient in MS Office


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of psychiatric terminology, HIPAA regulations, DSM-V-TR, ICD, and CPT coding
  • At least 2 years' experience working in a psychiatric facility with adolescents/young adults
