The HCV Program is a federal program administered by Loudoun County that assists very low- and extremely low-income households to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. In this pivotal role, the Housing Counselor will perform a variety of procedures to achieve and maintain high utilization and delivery of housing assistance subsidies to qualified program participants; develop and implement policies and internal procedures for the Homeownership Voucher Program; screen clients to certify initial eligibility; complete re-certifications; determine and verify income, assets, medical expenses, and other eligibility requirements; and complete subsidy and rent calculations, utility allowances, and rent reasonableness. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.Bachelor's degree in Housing, Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or related field; two (2) years of related work experience in a housing or public assistance area, including clients with mental health and/or substance abuse issues; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required. Hold or obtain Family Self-Sufficiency and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Specialist Certification.
