Short Description

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Position

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Cooper University Health Care (CUH) and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) has an opportunity for full-time, outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our department.

CUH is a strong, physician-led health system and academic medical center with a foundational core dedicated to ensuring access to excellent care for patients from a range of communities across southern New Jersey. CMSRU trains medical students using progressive approaches to community health for people with a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, and socioeconomic conditions. Our main campus is in Camden, NJ less than 15 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. Our CAP offices are in newly renovated office space, and there is potential to work in satellite locations across Southern New Jersey.

Position roles and opportunities:

  • Outpatient practice—general child psychiatry with the opportunity to develop areas of clinical focus based on your interests and expertise
  • Teaching residents (psychiatry, family medicine, pediatric) and medical students in clinical experiences and didactics
  • Consultation to primary care clinicians to support them in providing appropriate children’s mental health care within the medical home
  • Contribute to program development, including our new Learning and Development Center of Excellence***
  • Explore other areas of professional interest

Experience Required

Successful candidates will be BC/BE in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey. The position is suited to both graduating fellows and experienced child and adolescent psychiatrists.

Education Requirements

MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)degree.
