About Job

Arnot Health is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role serves as the primary guide for assigned patients throughout treatment, providing individual, group, and family counseling, as well as discharge planning and referral coordination. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to fostering recovery in a supportive, professional environment.


Schedule

  • Part-time ~ 20 hours per week
  • Rotational shifts including potential weekend and holiday coverage

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary therapist for assigned patients, including developing and updating individualized treatment plans with patient input.

  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, as well as psycho-social-educational programs.

  • Coordinate with referral sources from admission through discharge, ensuring aftercare appointments are arranged.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in crisis management, ensuring the safety and welfare of patients, staff, and the facility.

  • Support program coverage needs, including weekends and holidays as required.

  • Collaborate with the clinical team on case presentations, treatment reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Adhere to ethical principles for credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors.


Education & Credentials

  • Associate’s degree in Alcoholism/Substance Abuse or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (Current CASAC-T or CASAC in good standing may substitute for the associate’s degree requirement)

  • If not already credentialed, must obtain CASAC within 2–3 years of hire (based on degree level).


Experience

  • 1–2 years’ experience in the treatment of alcohol and/or chemically dependent patients preferred.
