This cutting-edge facility is expanding capacity to meet regional demand and is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care to adults and seniors in crisis.

Assignment Highlights

• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract Type: Locum Tenens – Psychiatry
• Assignment Length: 6+ months
• Positions Available: 2 full-time Psychiatrist openings
• Start Date: October 27, 2024
• Privileges: Temporary/emergency privileges available for clean files
  
  

Schedule & Coverage

• Primary Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekend Options: Weekend-only coverage available for select candidates
• Night Coverage: Not required—no nocturnist roles
• On-Site Team: 1 MD + 1 NP during the day
• Orientation: Quick onboarding process with supportive administrative and clinical teams
  
  

Program Overview

• Patient Load: Typically 14 patients/day, max 16 per provider
• Facility Capacity: Currently 64 operational beds with plans to expand to 120
• Daily Duties:
• Inpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment
• Leading daily treatment team meetings
• Coordinating with utilization review and social work teams
• Completing all documentation before leaving for the day
• Patient Populations: Adults and seniors with a range of acute psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, psychosis, suicidal ideation, and co-occurring substance use disorders
• Care Approach: Evidence-based, individualized treatment plans with strong multidisciplinary collaboration

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certification: American Board of Psychiatry
• Experience: Inpatient Psychiatric care, Behavioral Health Hospital or LTAC experience preferred
• Skills: Strong interdisciplinary communication, confident clinical decision-making, and ability to manage complex cases in a structured environment
