GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Kids Fun Zone Counselor leads high-energy youth activities for children ages 6–12, both indoors and outdoors. This role is responsible for creating monthly activity schedules, facilitating large group games, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and fun environment for all participants. The counselor will actively interact and connect with families, fostering positive relationships and delivering the ultimate member experience. This position requires creativity, strong leadership skills, and the ability to engage children in a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities while maintaining a safe and well-organized space.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Child Care
- Provide childcare to children and, if necessary, assist with discipline issues and attending to personal needs.
- Participate and entertain children with games or other approved activities.
- Assist with club special events as needed and as assigned by the Youth Activities Manager.
- Administer first aid to children in accordance with company policy.
- Project a positive, friendly, and caring attitude at all times while interacting with children and their parents.
Customer Service
- Maintain that the Kids Fun Zone area is clean and maintained according to set standards.
- Check that all equipment and other objects are clean and safe.
- Ensure the safety of children in the Kids Fun Zone area and follow all safety procedures.
- Report all member complaints and any incidents to the Youth Activities Manager.
- Report any child safety concerns to the Youth Activities Manager
Administration
- Confirm that all members utilizing Kids Fun Zone are signed in correctly.
- Ensure that the parent or guardian has signed a Kids Fun Zone Agreement and has the proper information on hand.
- Ensure parent/guardian completes and signs the Kids Fun Zone Register when checking in and checking out children.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Youth Activities Manager. This position may interact with all levels of management and staff within the club, and within the Youth Activities Team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children.
- Patience in dealing with children and members.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Energetic and friendly.
- Adhere to meal and rest break periods and must clock in and out for all shift times.
Minimum Certifications/Educational Level
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current CPR/AED certification required.
Minimum Experience
- 1-2 years of childcare experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Hours
- Friday: 3:00pm – 9:00pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 3:00pm – 9:00pm
- Potential for additional hours for club events, camps, and other youth-related activities.
