Our new Cameron Ridge Treatment Program reflects this mission through an innovative, trauma-informed treatment model that centers the voices of lived experience.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and qualified Part-Time Evening Substance Abuse Counselor to support our evening programming and provide direct care to individuals in early recovery.
Minimum Qualification
- Must hold at least a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential
(LCAS-A, LCAS, LCSW, LCMHC, or other equivalent licenses are also encouraged to apply)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ substance use history, treatment needs, and recovery goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions to address addiction- related issues and foster personal growth.
- Provide education to clients and families about substance use, recovery strategies, and coping mechanisms.
- Collaborate with medical staff, case managers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Offer crisis intervention and emotional support as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines, confidentiality regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications Required:
- Current certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in addiction counseling or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, including evidence- based practices and 12-step facilitation. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work with diverse populations in a nonjudgmental, empathetic manner. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred:
- Passionate about recovery and supporting diverse pathways to healing
- Experienced in facilitating groups and working with individuals with substance use and co-occurring challenges
- Familiar with harm reduction, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral health systems
- Comfortable working in a peer-integrated, evening-based treatment setting

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
