Non-Bargaining position through the Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Governments, MVRCOG
Location: This counselor will be assigned to AES and AIS for the 2025-2026 school year.
Complensation: $20 per hour; limited hours not to exceed 28.75 per week
Reports to: Building Principal, Director of Curriculum, and/or Superintendent
Position Overview:
The School-Based Mental Health Counselor provides counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health support to students to promote social-emotional well-being, improve academic outcomes, and foster a positive school climate. The counselor works collaborating with school staff, families, and community agencies to address student needs and connect them with appropriate resources. The counselor specifically serves as a liaison for families in crisis.
Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The successful candidate must complete any Vector/Safe Schools courses as recommended and assigned by the Administration.

The successful candidate must have the following on file before starting:
- Appropriate and valid Ohio School Counselor License
- Current favorable State and Federal background checks
- Official Sealed Transcripts
- Negative drug screen
