  • Build your own caseload — we refer the clients, you approve the ones you want.
  • Flexible scheduling based on your availability and client needs.

  • Bonuses:
  • $300 sign-on/retention bonus (paid with first direct deposit)

  • Part-time to full-time contract work depending on your availability and travel distance.
  • Direct deposit monthly — 1099 contractor position (no taxes withheld).

Position Details:

  • Client population: Children and adolescents with mental and intellectual disabilities.
  • Common diagnoses: Autism, ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), OCD.
  • Each client is typically seen 2–3 hours per week, once or twice weekly, and often approved for services for 1 year with options for renewal.
  • Expect 2–10 clients to be referred within the first few months after hire.
  • Training & onboarding: Expect about 1 month to complete training materials and background check before referrals begin.
  • Documentation: Submit progress notes on each client from each session once a month.

Job Duties:

  • Assess client’s interests, abilities, and therapeutic goals.
  • Plan and implement recreation activities tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Provide one-on-one support and encouragement during activities.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
  • Track client participation and progress through session notes.
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers and the agency about client engagement.
  • Follow all HIPAA and agency guidelines for confidentiality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
  • Must complete all required training (agency-provided).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
