Description:
Summary: Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Director of Behavioral Health will provide mental health services to White Memorial Community Health Center (WMCHC) patients and participate in multidisciplinary teams for specialty care.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise licensed clinical social workers and case managers.
- Strategically plan for the delivery of Behavioral Health Services to WMCHC patients
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements for the delivery of Behavioral Health Services
- Develop relevant Behavioral Health Policies and Procedures and ensure implementation
- · Conduct quarterly Peer Review of Behavioral Health Services and provide summary reports to the Chief Medical Officer
- Attend the Compliance and Quality Assurance Committee meetings when necessary
- Attend Quality Improvement and Clinical Operations Meetings and Leadership Meetings.
- Attend CCALAC Behavioral Health Workgroup and other meetings as appropriate as a liaison for WMCHC.
- Partner with CEO, CMO, and COO to ensure that Behavioral Health Services are meeting the needs of WMCHC patients and to plan, develop, and implement new programs as needed.
- Responsible for assessing patients’ psychosocial status as it relates to substance abuse and mental health, communicates with physicians to report patient progress, needs, concerns, and potential and actual clinical issues.
- Provide individual and group counseling to patients in a strengths-based, culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate, and compassionate manner.
- Responsible for providing brief therapy, implementing appropriate evidence-based practices and interventions in client sessions.
- Responsible for establishing strong rapport with patients, which expresses concern for their well-being.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining all pertinent records, statistics, and progress notes in a time-sensitive manner.
- Responsible for working closely with all health care team members in developing treatment plans, based on counseling assessment and social work interventions.
- Responsible for overseeing the duties of the Behavioral Health Case Manager to ensure that we refer patients to appropriate specialty services and community agencies
- Responsible for assisting with ongoing clinical training, support, workshops, and in-services to staff as needed.
- Responsible for actively participating in the Quality Improvement Program.
- Responsible for following all Organization safety and health standards, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices.
- Responsible for maintaining Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, including completing 36 hours of continuing education every two years.
- Assist and collaborate with other departments as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Social Work required
- Two years of experience working in the mental health field.
- Experience overseeing behavioral health program.
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with minimal supervision
- Strong leadership skills, experience in leading a Behavioral Health Team is highly desirable
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is highly desirable
- Bilingual Spanish required
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and office management software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $129,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
