Job Description
Saratoga Elementary School is seeking a 7.0 hour per day Behavior Interventionist. The candidate should possess a desire to work with students who demonstrate behavioral and cognitive challenges. The Behavior Interventionist provides assistance to staff to address and maintain appropriate student behavior. The person may also assist in other areas of instruction, recreation, classroom organization and general supervision of students. This individual may lead some SAIG (social academic instructional groups). Training for specific intervention programs is provided. All activities are performed under the direction and supervision of the building administrator and/or special education teacher(s). A strong candidate for this position would have experience working with children with behavioral issues, disruptive and/or at risk youth and must have the ability to create strong positive relationships with students and staff. They should have knowledge of effective communication/crisis intervention/resolution/mediation skills. Candidate must meet Title school requirements.
Salary: $21.75/hr
Calendar: 183-day/7 hrs
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
