Bridge House / Grace House is seeking a dedicated Intake Counselor to join our program. This role is vital in helping new clients begin their recovery journey through thorough intake assessments, compassionate care, and connection to the right services.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Reports To: Chief Clinical Officer
What You’ll Do
- Complete intake assessments, including biopsychosocial (ASI), client history, and screenings for depression, problem gambling, suicidality, PTSD, and anxiety.
- Develop a 30-day treatment plan in collaboration with each client.
- Gather required consents, identification, insurance, and documentation before admission.
- Provide referrals and safe options for clients not appropriate for treatment.
- Facilitate or co-lead group therapy sessions.
- Review client information for treatment appropriateness.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations.
- Work with Utilization Review to secure billing authorizations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, substance abuse, psychology, or related mental health field (required).
- Experience in substance abuse treatment; knowledge of 12-step recovery preferred.
- Skilled in individual and group therapy, with knowledge of evidence-based approaches like Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and relapse prevention models.
- Ability to work collaboratively, stay organized, and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.

Required Certifications
- RSW, LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC, CIT, RAC, CAC, or LAC or working towards licensure.
- CPI and CPR/First Aid certification
