As a member of the admissions team at The Ohio State University at Newark, the admissions counselor will spend the greatest amount of time through the year performing the following job responsibilities: managing a recruitment territory; executing territory specific recruitment activities and events using data to make recruitment decisions; developing and maintaining positive relationships with high schools, community based organizations, and community colleges; traveling to high schools, community colleges, and college fairs to represent The Ohio State University with possible travel, largely within the state of Ohio, up to 7 weeks per year. Additional responsibilities include making recruitment calls to prospective students, learning, and using the CRM (Salesforce) system, Student Information System, and other technologies to perform timely and accurate entries into databases regarding student application information, call/email activity and other processes, and carrying out special projects as assigned.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: counseling and corresponding with students, families, university departments, or other stakeholders regarding The Ohio State University application and enrollment policies, procedures, and general information over the phone, via email, and in person; conducting large and small-group presentations; learning and maintaining knowledge of the areas within the office and university to best direct questions from staff and guests; researching and resolving problems in a timely manner and escalating them when appropriate; assisting with on and off campus recruitment events and projects; coordinating recruitment for special programs, as assigned, which may include transfer, veterans, and College Credit Plus; serving as the coordinator for administrative tasks that support recruitment and enrollment of new students; carrying out steps and coordinating with colleagues and other campus partners to achieve success; participating as an active community member of the Ohio State Newark admissions team through membership on committees; and completing special assignments and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

This position is located at the Newark campus in Newark, Ohio and the target hiring range is $19.28 - $25.19/hour.
