About Job
Did you decide to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families? Do you want to be part of a growing team that values our profession with compassion for one another as well as our clients? Do you want to work hard while growing personally and clinically? Are you seeking a home away from home where you look forward to waking up in the morning? Do you appreciate the one-on-one personal relationship between therapist and client in the room, versus a more distant online experience? Then our Northridge Private Practice, near California State University Northridge, is designed for you!
We are one of the few private practices in the San Fernando Valley offering in-person therapy for those affected by challenges such as trauma, abuse, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, ADHD, grief and loss issues, post-trauma stress disorder, and school and career issues. Contracting with all Los Angeles County Medi-Cal insurers, as well as a wide variety of private insurance companies, we receive phone calls and e-mails daily for those specifically requesting in-person therapy.
We offer the perfect part-time opportunity, with the benefit of accumulating hours and professional development toward ultimate licensure, under the direct supervision of our seasoned Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. All referrals are received by the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who conducts brief consultations and schedules sessions with the appropriate team therapist. Marketing and billing are provided as well. This allows you the support to focus primarily on treating your clients as the professional you are.
The perfect candidate will have the ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships, working with children, adolescents, and adults, with warmth and directness. They must have strong organizational and time management skills, and be able to work on their own with little supervision. They must have the ability to balance their current part-time obligations while treating at least 15-20 clients per week on Monday through Friday afternoons, with weekends available.
Responsibilities are to conduct in-person individual, couples, and family sessions. Intake and notes will be completed in session on paper to maintain the personal therapeutic relationship. No work during personal time is necessary. All weekly individual supervision with the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is included and consists of treatment planning and advisement.
Qualifications are a Master’s Degree from an accredited Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work Program, preferably offering an in-class education. In-person therapy experience is required with some telehealth acceptable. Registration with the State of California BBS as a Registered Associate is required.
