Work Schedule: Full-Time: Monday-Friday (6:00am-2:00pm or 7:00am-3:00pm)

About Our Program:
Easterseals, a national nonprofit organization, has supported individuals with disabilities for over 50 years. Its services for mental health conditions and intellectual/developmental disabilities provides daily living support and community-based programs that teaches individuals with special needs valuable life skills through instruction and real-world experiences.

What You’ll Do:
  • The Lead Residential Counselor supports the Residential Supervisor to ensure that the multiple group homes operate cohesively and provide those who participate the opportunity to experience a quality of life through support and advocacy.
  • Functions as mentor to ensure that all team members are supporting consumer participants within a person-centered approach.
  • Serves as the point of contact regarding all consumers’ individual needs in the program environment when the supervisor is not available.
  • Supports the Residential Supervisor in the implementation of all regulatory standards that meet the rights of the individuals supported by assisting in the daily operations within the program.
What You'll Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university OR a combination of 1+ years of college and at least 4 years of related work/life experience in direct care OR a high school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of related work/life experience in direct care required.
  • At least 1 year experience in a mental health group home setting required.
  • At least 1 year of management experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including working with individuals with mental illness.
  • Intermediate computer skills including the ability to complete documentation in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of state/local regulations.
