About Job

What you will be doing:
  • Actively support student success by preparing and maintaining timely documentation and reports on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student progress.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) for students.
  • Develop, oversee, and actively review Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) at least annually, and more frequently based on students' changing needs.
  • Provide ongoing training to classroom staff to ensure fidelity of behavior intervention plans and programmatic supports as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan.
  • Establish and maintain an ongoing active presence in classrooms during non-crisis and crisis situations.
  • Develop and manage data collection systems to reflect current behavior intervention plans and target behaviors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely input of behavioral data.
  • Complete student progress reports that reflect up-to-date progress supported by current behavior data for each term.
  • Ensure compliance with MSDE guidelines and COMAR Regulations 13A.08.04.03 by submitting required paperwork to MSDE and local school systems related to seclusions and restraints.
  • Collaborate with special educators, related service providers, and other school staff to design and implement programs and protocols to meet all student needs.
  • Design and implement professional development for staff that support the behavioral programming of the school based on evidence-based methodologies.
  • Participate in school-wide staff meetings and in-services, student meetings, behavior meetings, and classroom meetings regularly.
  • Monitor and provide guidance and training to behavior assistants.
  • Participate in the student intake committee.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents of students on the assigned caseload and outside providers as appropriate.
Experience you will need:
  • Masters Degree or higher in behavior analysis, psychology, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or comparable.
  • A minimum of two years of proven successful experience in implementing, designing, and overseeing behavior analysis services for individuals with autism.
