Summary

We are seeking to add an In Training Behavioral Analyst to our passionate and dedicated care team of MaineHealth Behavior Health at Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders for our Developmental Disorders Program.

In this unique opportunity you will gain in the field training towards working as a Behavior Analyst. The Behavior Analyst In Training (Special Education Tech III BA – DD) role provides instruction and behavioral support in a year-round special purpose program. Under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher, BCBA/Social Worker and the Director, the Special Education Tech III—Developmental Disorders this role is actively involved in providing instructional services and behavioral treatment to meet the required academic, behavioral and daily living needs of students, with a focus on helping children learn new ways of coping with challenges and increasing their communication and independence.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field required. Enrollment in a Master’s Degree that meets BACB requirements for BCBA certification required.
  • License/Certifications: Certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education (minimum of 90 credits in approved study) required. Certification as School-Based Behavioral Health Professional preferred (may be provided upon hire).
  • Experience: One year of experience working with children or youth with developmental disorders, mental health disorders, and/or challenging behavior in school, hospital, or residential setting required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: DOE and DHHS fingerprinting required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to students’ ages 5+
