Position Overview
We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team at our Inwood Center in the Bronx, NY. In this crucial role, you'll diagnose and treat various psychiatric conditions, provide medication management, conduct assessments, and deliver therapeutic interventions to promote mental health and wellness. This position plays a vital role in supporting the mental health of our community's underserved population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans, including medication management and therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor medication efficacy and manage psychiatric care.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health, treatment options, and lifestyle improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated patient care.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions per regulatory standards.
  • Provide crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Offer supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners as needed.

Minimum Education Requirement

  • MD or DO with specialization in Psychiatry.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, preferably within community health or FQHC settings.
  • Experience with diverse populations and co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.

Licensure

  • Valid New York State medical license.
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred or Board Eligible.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Active or eligible DEA License.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Expertise in diagnosing and treating various psychiatric conditions.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Knowledge of current psychiatric guidelines and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Job Type
Part-time

Hourly Rate
$138.62 - $150.58 based on licensure and experience
