Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate mental health clinician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and be skilled in various therapeutic modalities. This role involves providing high-quality care to individuals, families, and groups, focusing on enhancing emotional well-being and addressing behavioral health challenges. The LCSW will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine mental health needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies for clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
- Develop and maintain treatment plans that address the specific needs of clients, including those with PTSD, addiction issues, and developmental disabilities.
- Engage in motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients toward positive change.
- Facilitate child and family counseling sessions, ensuring a supportive environment for all participants.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment summaries.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to enhance service delivery.
- Provide education on behavioral health topics to clients and their families.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution; NJ issued professional licensure is required.
- Proven experience in clinical counseling, particularly with children, adolescents, and families.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient medical record management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding practices is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or geriatric patients is a plus.
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients from various backgrounds.
