About the Role

I’m a licensed therapist and private practice owner in South Bay (Torrance/Gardena), seeking one part-time associate(APCC, AMFT, or ASW) to join my practice for clinical supervision and caseload development mentorship.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn both clinical skills and the business side of private practice, with support and guidance from an experienced CBT-oriented therapist. You’ll gain practical tools to build a private caseload and run a successful practice.

Schedule

• Required Supervision: Thursdays at 5:00 PM (triadic format)
• Flexible Client Hours
• Optional in-office availability on Saturdays after 3:30 PM in Torrance/Gardena

Minimum Requirements

• Registered in California as APCC, AMFT, or ASW
• At least 500 accrued clinical hours
• Passed CA Law & Ethics Exam
• Strong interest or background in CBT and mindfulness-based therapy
• Comfortable with telehealth
• Reliable communication and time management skills

Caseload Expectations

• Within 2 months: At least 5 clients per week
• Within 4 months: At least 9 clients per week

Important Note: If you are working full-time elsewhere, please consider whether you have the time to commit to building a caseload, marketing yourself, and engaging in supervision. This is a supportive, mentorship-based role — but it does require consistent time and energy.

More information about the position:

• This is an opportunity to learn the business and clinical aspects of private practice directly from a therapist who can maintain a sustainable full caseload over a significant period of time. Associates will be responsible for cultivating their own caseload, but I will be teaching you how to do so. Willingness to be creative with your marketing techniques, define a counseling niche, and motivation to network outside the mental health industry will be a must.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
