Summary:
This is a dynamic role ideal for a licensed school social worker who is passionate about supporting students with IEPs and enhancing their academic, emotional, and behavioral success. The position serves as both a direct service provider and a collaborative consultant across schools, families, and community partners. A background in special education and familiarity with state guidelines and behavioral supports is essential.
What Youll Do:
Conduct comprehensive social-emotional and behavioral evaluations for IEP eligibility
Provide direct services (individual, group, skills training) per IEP mandates
Collaborate with teams to design and implement Behavior Intervention Plans
Coordinate crisis interventions and consult on threat assessments
Act as liaison with community agencies and outside providers
Maintain compliance documentation and contribute to IEP development
Experience Youll Need:
MSW Degree and ISBE Professional Educator License with School Social Worker Endorsement
Experience with FBA, BIP, and special education case management
Familiarity with Illinois SEL standards and IDEA compliance
Strong collaboration skills across diverse school stakeholders
Intern supervision experience a plus
