Job Overview – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP):

Compensation: $140,000/year

Location: Queens, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM


Provide comprehensive psychiatric care as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with our client in Queens, NY, delivering evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for patients with psychiatric and co-occurring substance use disorders. Work closely with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and behavioral health teams, lead crisis interventions, and champion patient advocacy, health promotion, and recovery-focused outcomes.


Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP):

  • Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct psychiatric evaluations, establish treatment plans, and provide individualized care.
  • Medication & Therapy Management: Prescribe/manage psychiatric medications, offer psychotherapy, and deliver crisis intervention.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, specialists, and mental health agencies for seamless patient care.
  • Substance Abuse Program Support: Perform SBIRT encounters and address co-occurring disorders within the Substance Abuse Expansion and Integration Program.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Complete all medical records, forms, and compliance documentation in line with Article 31 and HIPAA standards.


Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP):

  • Licensure: Active New York State license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is required.
  • Certification: Board-eligible or board-certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy (experience with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and familiarity with Article 31 program documentation requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining patient advocacy.
