About Job

Family Medicine of Michigan is a family medical practice that provides integrative medical and behavioral health care. We are seeking an additional Behavioral Health Clinician to add to the growing needs of the office. The Clinician works in collaboration with the Medical Providers to help decrease the psychological, emotional and physical effects mental health concerns carry with them as well as add to the health and well-being of the patient population. It is imperative that the clinician have a deep understanding and awareness of the physical and psychological impacts as it relates to mental health and medical health.

Duties:

Engagement skills are very important for this position. Being able to engage patients of all age ranges and family systems is integral for this practice. Crisis management and suicide risk assessment skills are also vital and highly valued by the medical practitioners. A solid base and understanding in providing Evidenced Based Therapy Interventions (i.e: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy) are a must for this position. Having multiple intervention strategies to engage the wide variation of populations will strengthen the Behavioral Health Team.

The ability to work independently and to function as a team member are both important. The Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for following up on referrals, scheduling intake, completing Biopsychosocial assessments that also include an assessment for substance use disorders. They will need to be proficient in the use of DSM 5 and have experience with diagnosis. They are responsible for collaborating with the patient to create treatment plans and developing clinical goals that ultimately contribute to the health and well-being of the patients. The clinician is responsible for the administrative tasks that coincide with providing psychotherapy. All medical records are electronic, so computer skills are integral for this position.

The clinician must have a full professional licensure in the State of Michigan as an LMSW or LLMSW.
