To provide a supervised learning opportunity to doctoral-level psychology students; to support externs to develop competencies in areas including, but not limited to: psychological testing, psychotherapy, and other clinical skills.

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution

- 1:1 School Based Counseling (6-10 students a year)
- Co Lead Small Group Counseling (2-3 groups)
- Breakfast, Lunch and Recess Duty
- Support with Social Emotional Learning Time
- Manage a caseload of students for attendance. You will be responsible for monitoring their attendance data, making attendance calls on days you are here, and collaborating with families to support them with developing attendance success plans.
- Observe creation of safety protocol and support as needed
- Support as needed in problem solving & crisis work to learn de-escalation techniques
- Stay up to date on updates regarding scholars (MySchool, Life Events)
- Family Communication regarding counseling consent, goals, and termination
- Teacher communication regarding counseling goals and termination
- Keep close counseling notes and documentation in online systems
- Participate in school wide events
- Participate in Social Emotional Meetings and Attendance Meetings
- Support the social work team with the student recruitment process
- Use DESSA data and other SE data to inform practice and use
- Report all instances of child abuse and maltreatment to supervisor in a timely fashion
- Provide problem solving support, clinical intervention and work with the children based on Haven Academy’s Social Emotional language and support system (Restorative Justice, Responsive Classroom, Trauma Informed Practice)
Qualifications
- Enrolled currently in an MSW program
- Strong desire to work collaboratively with a social work team to provide mental health services to youth, specifically those impacted by the child welfare system.
