About Our Organization

Our Place Drop-In Center is a welcoming space for individuals receiving mental health services. Open Monday through Friday, we offer a supportive environment focused on connection, recovery, and community. Members participate in group activities, games, and daily living support, all guided by the values of peer-led care.

The Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) plays a key role in engaging with members throughout the day and providing transportation to and from the center. This position combines shared lived experience with practical support to foster trust, consistency, and meaningful engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reliable transportation for members to and from the center.
  • Interact and engage with members throughout the day in a supportive and respectful manner.
  • Assist with and lead group activities, including games, discussions, and wellness programs.
  • Support members with day-to-day tasks and encourage skill-building.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times.
  • Collaborate with other staff to create a positive, inclusive, and recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Lived experience in mental health recovery and ability to model wellness strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and the ability to work as part of a team.
