About Job

The Home Medical Equipment Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical equipment in a timely manner. This position works Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm and occasional customer service on-call support.

  • Patient Intake: Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical prescriptions.
  • Equipment Coordination: Manage orders for medical equipment, ensuring timely delivery and proper setup.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and suppliers to address any questions or concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment orders, patient interactions, and follow-up activities.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage for the prescribed equipment, including co-pays and prior authorization requirements
  • Order Processing: Place orders for DME through suppliers, ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements
  • Compliance: Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards.

  • Experience in healthcare, medical office administration or medical equipment coordination preferred
  • Experience with insurance processes preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
