About Job
The Psychiatric Technician provides direct care and support to patients with mental health, emotional, or behavioral conditions. Under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, they assist in implementing treatment plans, monitor patient behavior, ensure a safe environment, and help patients with daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients’ physical and emotional well-being and report significant changes to clinical staff.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, meals, and mobility.
- Observe, document, and report patient behavior, mood, and interactions.
- Support therapeutic activities, group sessions, or recreational programs.
- Assist in crisis intervention, including de-escalation and, if necessary, applying appropriate safety interventions or restraints per policy.
- Administer medications under supervision (if certified and permitted by facility/state).
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff.
- Escort patients to appointments or supervised outings, if required.
- Build positive, therapeutic relationships with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
