Part-Time Job Description

Providence Academy is a Christian Independent school that was founded in 2013 with a mission to provide “Uncompromising excellence in educating and equipping students with Truth.” The school serves over 200 students in Jr. Kindergarten – 8th grade.

In the classroom, teachers encourage, motivate, and inspire students through an exceptional educational program infused with a Christian worldview. Students are challenged in all areas of their lives – academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially – as they develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The school strives to develop and nurture a strong partnership with parents to ensure their children thrive in all aspects of their lives. Faculty and staff are committed followers of Christ, called to demonstrate their commitment to Christ in words and actions, and to hold each other accountable to scripture with love, compassion, and understanding.

The school’s After-School Care Program has been designed for parents requiring after-school care for their children. The Program begins at 3:15 p.m., the end of the school day, and runs till 5:30 p.m. The Program typically provides care for students in Jr. Kindergarten through the 4th grade and includes approximately 15 students on a daily basis. The ideal candidate must be a follower of Jesus Christ, love children, and be equipped to engage with them in meaningful activities while maintaining a well-managed, safe, loving, and respectful environment. The After-School Care Coordinator (ASCC) position is part-time – from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or up to 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE). The ASCC will report to and take direction from the Auxiliary Programs Co-Lead while providing vision, structure, and leadership to develop and manage an exceptional After-School Care Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide vision in taking the current program to its next level of excellence while ensuring alignment with the strategic goals and core values of Providence Academy.

· Work in a collaborative manner with others and have the ability to build a circle of influence.

· High energy, positive, flexible, adaptable, and willing to offer support throughout school departments, as needed.

· Lead and manage all administrative aspects of the program including, but not limited to - registrations, budgeting, supply order requests, attendance, sign-out, developmentally appropriate and fun activities, snack menu, and the daily schedule.

· Ensure safety, supervision, and security for children - including establishing routines, policies, procedures and guidance, in accordance with Providence Academy policies and protocols.

· Incorporate Responsive Classroom strategies and Biblical Truth into routine and structure of the program.

· Effectively lead and manage direct reports who support auxiliary programs, ensuring effective supervisions, allocation of resources, collaboration, and goal alignment.

· Collaborate with appropriate Providence Academy leaders to ensure a high quality program that expands possibilities for engagement with the school across the community and region.

· Approach programming with an entrepreneurial mindset, envisioning new program ideas to further Providence Academy’s mission, community engagement, with an income generating lens.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Interested candidates must have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, seeking to live a life with Christ at the center and demonstrating the Fruit of the Spirit.

· A love for children and desire to engage with them in meaningful activities while maintaining their safety.

· Experience working with children and leading youth programs.

· Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.

· Ability to work afternoons to support programming.

· Experience and comfort working in a variety of technological platforms.

· Demonstrated leadership and management expertise preferred.

· Bachelor's Degree preferred, High School diploma required.

· Dedicated to the school’s mission and ability to sign the school’s Statement of Faith.
