Team Leader (LMSW):
The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the social services team within the shelter. This involves working collaboratively to address client needs and ensure effective service delivery. The Team Leader provides both clinical and administrative supervision, ensures compliance with DHS standards, and may conduct more complex assessments and therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise MSWs and case managers; oversee caseload assignments.
- Conduct psycho-social assessments for all assigned clients.
- Conduct individual counseling or short-term interventions as needed (within LMSW scope).
- Provide emergency and crisis service intervention.
- Provide supportive counseling and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills training to clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with DHS and funder requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to program development.
- Establish advocacy network with community resources.
- Support training and onboarding of new staff.
- Link clients to substance abuse and mental health treatment programs.
- Collaborate with the onsite Nurse Practitioner or community mental health provider to ensure clients' treatment plans, including medication management.
- Conduct three (3) group sessions weekly and provide detailed to the Program Director.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to work evenings, at least one Saturday a month and some holidays.
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs within the building assigned.
- Must be able to escort clients to appointments as needed.
- On call 24/7
Qualifications:
- LMSW required, with one (1) year of post graduate working experience.
- Supervisory experience a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance abuse, and homeless adults. Demonstrated experience and knowledge utilizing Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Strengths Based Case Management, Harm Reduction and Recovery Oriented principles.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate group treatment and developing group curricula.
- Experience with entitlement systems and procedures.
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual -English/Spanish a plus
