YES Community Counseling Center is seeking 2 F/T masters level clinicians to provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered services to children impacted by domestic violence and their non-abusive parents/caregivers. These two new positions are due to an expansion of our community-based W.I.S.H. (Working in Shared Healing) Program, which provides clinical services to victims and survivors of interpersonal violence.
Position summary:
Manage a caseload of children (ages 0-18) and abused parents
Provide individual, parent-child, and family, and group therapy
Facilitate support groups for children and non-abusive parents
Provide parent guidance, support, and education
Complete comprehensive assessments of both clinical and concrete needs
Connect clients with information, resources, and referrals as needed
Assess for safety related to domestic violence and engage clients in safety planning
Complete suicide risk assessments & safety contracts
Collaborate and coordinate client care with clinical staff, service providers, and agency partners/systems (i.e. CPS, police)
Provide advocacy and case management as needed
Maintain up-to-date electronic medical records in accordance with agency protocols
Attend weekly staff meetings and individual supervision
Provide interpretation for clients and translation of documents (bilingual position)
Hours: Monday-Friday with 3 evenings (no weekends)
Salary: $60,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience and Spanish fluency)
Qualifications:
Master’s in Social Work, Creative Arts Therapy, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling
New York State licensure or eligible for limited permit
Fluency in Spanish is required for one of the two open positions
Clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families required
Experience working with victims of domestic violence, child abuse, or sexual assault strongly preferred
Training in trauma-informed care, play therapy, expressive arts interventions, or attachment-based interventions (i.e. Theraplay) preferred
Must have basic computer literacy and excellent verbal and written skills.
Ideal candidate will demonstrate a compassionate, trauma-responsive, and survivor-centered care approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and partners.
