K-8 public school looking for before and after school classroom aides to assist in basic supervision, homework help, and engaging active young minds!

Flexible schedule, able to work around school schedules for college students. Partialized schedules available.

Hours available:

3-5 or 3-6 pm, M-F ($15-$19/hour, dependent on work experience) (Days flexible, can work 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week)

Substitute teaching work 8:30am-5:30pm in our satellite program in Highland Park, NJ or 3-5:30pm as needed

Summary

As an After School Counselor, you will be instrumental in creating a safe and engaging environment for children after school hours. Reporting to the Program Director, your core responsibilities will include supervising activities, providing childcare, and facilitating camp-like experiences. Your premium skills in classroom management and first aid will ensure the well-being of all participants. Additionally, your relevant experience in tutoring, sports coaching, and behavior management will enhance the program's effectiveness, fostering children's development and enjoyment. Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in various activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Implement structured programs that promote social, emotional, and physical development.
• Assist with homework and provide tutoring support as needed.
• Manage classroom behavior and address any conflicts among students.
• Organize recreational activities, including sports and arts, to foster teamwork and creativity.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
