JOB SUMMARY
The Healthy Housing Team Lead provides supervision and leadership to assigned case managers in programs under the Healthy Housing Department, including Short-Term Rent, Mortgage, and Utility Assistance (STRMU) and Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA). These programs provide housing support to individuals and families to prevent homelessness, increase housing stability, and promote self-sufficiency.
The Team Lead role is approximately 25% direct case management and 75% staff supervision. This position ensures program compliance with Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS/HIV (HOPWA) guidelines, delivers high-quality participant services, and fosters strong community partnerships to support participant goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Supervision & Leadership
Assign and oversee case managers within STRMU and TBRA under the direction of the Director of Support Services
Monitor workload, productivity, and compliance with HOPWA policies and procedures.
Approve timesheets, expense reports, and leave requests.
Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate team staffing.
Attend leadership and supervision training to enhance management skills.
Case Management Services
Provide field-based/mobile case management using evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, and intensive case management.
Engage participants through outreach, intake, assessment, and the development of Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
Monitor participant progress, link to appropriate community resources, provide follow-up, advocate for participant needs, and manage appropriate discharge planning.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in client files and HMIS, with entries completed by the next business day.
Assist participants with lease agreements, securing identification, and gathering other required documents.
Support tenants in maintaining benefits, entitlements, and compliance with HUD grant requirements.
Collaboration & Advocacy
Participate in Coordinated Case Management with Homeless Alliance partner agencies.
Facilitate and coordinate supportive services such as employment readiness, financial education, and behavioral health supports.
Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with community resources and attend coalition meetings.
Advocate for participants to access and maintain stable housing and increase self-sufficiency.
Other Duties
Transport participants as needed.
Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to confidentiality standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Commitment to ending homelessness in Oklahoma City with a sense of urgency.
High tolerance and understanding for individuals with complex needs.
Strong advocacy, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
Decision-making skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Ability to excel in a diverse, collaborative team environment.
Strong time management skills with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of community resources in Oklahoma City.
Ability to transport participants and travel to various locations daily.
Flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, with on-call availability.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree in social work, behavioral science, or related field.
Minimum two years of experience in adult case management.
Experience supervising or leading a team preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet-based applications.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and proof of insurance.
ODMHSAS Case Management Certification and SOAR training preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods; lift/move up to 25 lbs.
Ability to drive in all weather and road conditions.
Work in both office and public service environments; potential exposure to challenging situations and odors consistent with working in homeless services.
