Overview
The QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals, particularly focusing on children and families. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can deliver effective psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and support to clients facing various mental health challenges. The QMHP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care and support for clients. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and Mobile Crisis Response Trainin.
Duties
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services using various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and grief counseling.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to assist clients in acute distress.
- Facilitate individual sessions, focusing on behavioral management and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients with complex needs, including those with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions.
- Engage in clinical research and data collection to enhance service delivery and treatment outcomes.
- Provide direct support to clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to offer remote counseling services as needed.
Skills
- Proficient in various therapeutic techniques such as psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Strong background in crisis management and case management.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, and those requiring addiction counseling.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
