A school is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support students across grades K-12 during a leave coverage contract in Waukegan, IL. This role involves working directly with students, families, and staff to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs, fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans and support strategies
- Conduct assessments and connect students and families with community resources as needed
- Maintain confidential records and documentation in accordance with school policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work (Bachelor's or Masters preferred) with valid licensure or certification as required for school social work
- Experience working with students in a K-12 educational setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to coordinate services outside the school environment
