We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our behavioral medicine team, specializing in providing therapy services for children and adolescents. This is a meaningful opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young individuals and their families.

Position Overview

The LPC will provide therapeutic support to children and teens struggling with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You’ll work closely with families, schools, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct age-appropriate assessments and clinical evaluations for children and adolescents
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the developmental and emotional needs of each child
  • Provide individual and family counseling to address behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and more
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and comply with ethical and clinical standards
  • Participate in care team meetings, supervision, and professional development
  • Offer crisis intervention and behavioral management strategies as needed
  • Educate families on coping strategies, communication, and parenting techniques

Requirements

  • Active LPC license in the state of Alabama
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical or school-based setting
  • Strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed care
  • Excellent communication, rapport-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage both young clients and their families in a therapeutic process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in play therapy, CBT, DBT, or other child-focused modalities
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders, behavioral disorders, or school-based challenges
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Bilingual abilities a plus
