About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and highly qualified Remote School Psychologist to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of K12 students across Michigan. In this fully remote position, you will collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that align with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual psychological evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and eligibility for special education services in compliance with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE).

  • Write legally compliant and comprehensive psychoeducational reports following federal (IDEA) and Michigan state guidelines.

  • Participate in IEP and Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings via virtual platforms.

  • Provide virtual counseling, behavioral intervention, and consultation services to students.

  • Support crisis prevention and response remotely, in collaboration with school teams.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement academic and behavioral interventions tailored to student needs.

  • Monitor student progress and provide timely updates and recommendations to IEP teams.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to FERPA and HIPAA privacy standards.

  • Stay current on best practices in school psychology and telepractice service delivery, especially those relevant to Michigans educational system.

Qualifications

  • Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.

  • Current and valid Michigan School Psychologist certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education.

  • Experience working with K12 students in school settings; virtual service experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in conducting assessments and writing legally defensible reports in a remote setting.

  • Solid understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and Michigan special education procedures.

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) and digital assessment tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Experience working with diverse student populations and using culturally responsive practices.

  • Familiarity with remote assessment platforms such as Q-interactive, Pearsons Q-global, or Riverside Insights.
