Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team Monday thruogh Friday, 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals, particularly adult, who have developmental disabilities or mental health challenges. This role involves implementing behavior intervention plans, providing direct support, and promoting a positive environment that fosters growth and development. The Behavior Technician will utilize various therapeutic techniques and collaborate with families to enhance the well-being of clients.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Provide direct support and care to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Utilize techniques such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to promote positive behavioral changes.
- Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in crisis management and intervention strategies as needed to support clients during challenging situations.
- Collaborate with families through counseling sessions, guiding behavior management strategies at home.
- Participate in clinical research and data collection to contribute to the development of effective treatment plans.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and best practices in behavioral health.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities such as art therapy or psychodynamic therapy when appropriate.
Requirements
- Experience working with chiludran or individuals with developmental disabilities is essential, and alcohol use disorder.
- Knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, including crisis intervention and motivational interviewing.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy practices and patient care protocols.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors while maintaining a supportive environment for clients.
- Previous experience in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics or hospitals is preferred.
- Understanding of special education principles and experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.

Pay: $23.36 - $28.13 per hour
