Position Title: School Psychologist
Location: Monroe County, Michigan (Multiple School Districts)
Contract Dates: August 1, 2025 May 22, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week
Student Population: Kindergarten through 12th Grade
Service Areas: Airport, Dundee, Monroe, Jefferson, Bedford, Whiteford School Districts

Position Overview

A collaborative network of school districts in Monroe County, Michigan is seeking a dedicated and skilled School Psychologist for the 20252026 academic year. This is a full-time position serving a diverse group of K12 students across multiple public school systems. The role is best suited for a professional who values flexibility, team collaboration, and a comprehensive approach to student support services.

Working in partnership with general and special education teams across several school locations, the School Psychologist will play a key role in the identification, evaluation, and support of students with academic, behavioral, and emotional needs. A valid Michigan Department of Education (MDE) 310 School Psychologist Certification is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for students referred for special education evaluations and re-evaluations

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret evaluation data and assist in the determination of eligibility for special education services

  • Support the development of effective IEPs through active participation in IEP team meetings across multiple districts

  • Provide consultation and intervention strategies to teachers, school staff, and families related to student academic, social-emotional, and behavioral concerns

  • Participate in the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and contribute to data-driven decision-making practices at the building and district levels

  • Assist with the development of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and functional behavior assessments (FBAs) as needed

  • Serve as a mental health resource within the school environment, helping staff identify and respond to student concerns

  • Travel between designated schools within Monroe County as needed, with support from the administrative and special education team

  • Maintain all required documentation in compliance with IDEA, Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE), and district policies

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Michigan 310 School Psychologist Certification through the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)

  • Masters degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited institution

  • Strong knowledge of Michigan special education laws, evaluation procedures, and eligibility criteria

  • Willingness and ability to work across multiple school locations throughout Monroe County

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage caseloads across districts

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years of prior experience working as a School Psychologist in K12 public school settings

  • Familiarity with a variety of assessment tools and data collection systems

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in both general and special education settings

  • Flexibility and initiative in adapting to different school cultures and administrative styles
