About Job

Coastal Manor is on the lookout for a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Director of Social Services to join our dedicated team! We are a cozy 39-bed facility located in the heart of downtown Yarmouth, offering skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and engaging recreational activities for our long-term and short-term care residents.

**Position Overview:**

The Director of Social Services plays a vital role in supporting the Administrator to effectively plan, organize, develop, and oversee the operations of the social services department.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Plan, develop, organize, and implement the social services programs within the facility.
  • Foster strong working relationships with all department staff and external communities to ensure our social services programs effectively meet the residents' needs.
  • Assist in the development, administration, and coordination of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on federal and state regulations concerning social services and recommend necessary changes to facility policies.
  • Participate in the quality assurance committee and other committees as assigned.
  • Engage in community planning that reflects the interests of the facility and the service needs of our residents.
  • Contribute to resident assessments and aid in developing, implementing, and planning social service care and discharge strategies with resident and family involvement.
  • Provide residents and their families with information regarding MaineCare, Medicare, and other available financial assistance programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with medical professionals and health-related organizations.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all resident health information, safeguarding their rights.
  • Address complaints and grievances, reporting them to department managers or the administrator as necessary.

Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Social Worker in the State of Maine.
