Position Overview

Regional Program Manager – Northern California

Primarily located in Grass Valley (needing to be in office)

About the Role:

The Regional Program Manager provides leadership and oversight to Mobile Crisis Teams, Law Enforcement-Embedded Teams, and Crisis Stabilization Units throughout Northern California. This role is responsible for supervising leadership staff, coordinating county partnerships, ensuring legal and clinical compliance, and enhancing service delivery across the region. The ideal candidate is a licensed mental health professional with experience in crisis services, team management, and interagency collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise program supervisors and regional staff across multiple counties
  • Coordinate crisis response programming with local hospitals, law enforcement, and behavioral health partners
  • Oversee documentation and compliance through SmartCare and Avatar EHR systems
  • Provide consultation and leadership during crisis response, including after-hours support
  • Conduct site visits, lead regional meetings, and represent SMWG at county-level forums and hearings
  • Monitor facilities, infrastructure, training needs, and performance metrics

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Active California license (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) in good standing
  • At least 3 years of experience in crisis intervention or behavioral health services
  • Minimum 3 years of staff supervision and leadership experience
  • Familiarity with Medi-Cal documentation and EHR systems (SmartCare, Avatar preferred)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
