About Job

MCCA, a premium substance treatment/mental health organization has an immediate opening for a Licensed or Associate-Licensed Counselor for our Treatment Pathways Program at the New Haven Court House. We seek a Counseling professional with experience in the field of human services who demonstrates proficiency in the counseling of substance disorder and/or behavioral health issues.

This position will be full-time at the New Haven Court House; this is not a remote position.

Major Responsibilities:

Facilitate initial procedures for admission, including completion of required intake forms, releases, collection of initial assessment in a court setting.

Evaluate individuals referred to Agency by bail officers and other court personnel to determine eligibility/appropriateness for engagement in TPP program. Communicate general and specific program goals, rules of conduct, Agency services and hours of operation, treatment costs to be borne by clients and clients’ rights as well as other information required.

Apply eligibility and diagnostic criteria to determine client appropriateness for treatment in various modalities and make recommendations for treatment planning. Report initial treatment recommendations, ongoing treatment recommendations, and monthly compliance reports to the court.

High profile consultative role with multi-disciplinary team, provide crisis intervention services as needed. Provide family interventions as needed. Work closely with other TPP clinician and TPP recovery coaches to support clients in maintaining appropriate engagement in recommended treatment.

Provide detailed reporting to court officials including bail office and judges on client progress and document engagement in TPP related services as required by contractual mandate.

Education, Training and Credentials:

Minimum of two years experience in mental health and/or addiction services. Masters Degree , Associate or fully - Licensed required (LMSW, LMFTA, LPCA, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or LADC).

Computer Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Prefer experience with electronic medical record systems.
